The China Inorganic Salts Industry Association is a national organization approved by the State Council and registered by the Ministry of Civil Affairs on November 28, 2002. It is supervised by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission.
Inorganic salt industry is an important part of the chemical industry in China, the sector is an essential raw material industry using minerals, salt lake water, underground brine, seawater and other natural and renewable resources for processing and synthesis of minerals products. There are 22 series and more than 1500 categories of products of inorganic salts industry in China. The total production capacity and output are more than 160 million tons and 120 million tons. Inorganic salt is a traditional bulk export commodity, about 200 varieties and nearly 20 million tons of products exported to more than 100 countries and regions in the world every year .
The China Inorganic Salts Industry Association is a national and professional social organization that operate in accordance with the constitution and conduct independent activities: respect the will of the members,serve the enterprise actively, and strengthen communication with government departments; play the role of ties, coordinate professional branches, and condense the overall strength of the industry. China Inorganic Salts Industry Association as a social organization, internally joint industry forces, externally represent the Chinese inorganic salt industry and strengthen cooperation and exchanges with the overseas industry.
China Inorganic Salts Industry Association has 5 expert committees led by academicians, 6 functional departments, and 28 affiliated agencies which has 22 branches covering potassium, magnesium, lithium, medium and trace element fertilizer etc., as well as 6 professional committees including molten salt energy storage.The coverage rate of production capacity and output value for the member enterprises in the industry is about 70%, which has strong representation and high influence in the industry.
